Technology

On Wednesday the year 7&8's went to technology in Moerewa. The year 7's were in cooking class and the year 8's were in woodwork and hard materials class with Mr E. I have been making a 50th key for my Papa. It took me two days to finish off the key. What I enjoyed was making the 50th key because I got to use all the materials. I can't wait till I give his key to him because I know he will love it.

Technology

In Te Ngahere the year 7 & 8s went to technology last week on Wednesday at Moerewa School. The year 7s were in a different class then 8s, the year 7s were doing wood work with Mr E and the year 8s were doing cooking with Whaea Dot. We made healthy strudels, what we had to do was get our ingredients ready for after interval. When intervil was over we started making our strudels. What I need to work on is making my strudels faster and what I did well was listening to our cooking teacher.

Swim Safe

This Tuesday we had a visitor named Whaea Tracey. She came to talk to us about swim safe. She told us 5 things before going on a boat, 1 check the weather, 2 take a waterproof phone, 3 take radio and go on channel 16 to listen to it just in case you get lost, 4 wear a life jacket, 5 tell someone when you will be back.

Ukulele

For the past few weeks we have been learning how to play ukulele. The year 6’s would go before the year 7 and 8’s. We have learnt like about three songs. One of the songs we have learnt was (Three little birds from Bob Marley) and (the lion sleeps tonight) they are really easy songs to play. I learnt the song the lion sleeps tonight in one day,  ukulele lessons is easy to learn.

Healthy Eating

  Everyday drinks,

Why: because it does not have sugar like the other ones.

Once a month drinks

Why: because there is lots of sugar in the bottle. If you keep drinking these drinks you can get

rotten teeth.  

Sometimes drinks,

Why: because the powerade has 10 teaspoons of sugar and the choc milk can be healthy for you but there is  choc flavor in the bottle.

On Monday we had Whaea Gina come to Paihia School to teach us about healthy eating and drinking.
She had three cards on the floor, there was this green card that means everyday, an orange card means
sometimes and the red card that means once a month.
There was this container that had a lot of drinks like, v, coke, mother, raro, water, powerade, choc milk, E2,
milk and juice.
Whaea Gina would ask some of us some questions and if we get it right we would have to put the right
drink where it belongs.

Ocean Conservation

On Monday a cool lady came into Te Ngahere her name was Libby. She taught me all about Ocean Conservation. I learnt lots from her. Half an hour later the whole class went outside to pick up rubbish because in other countries there is lots of rubbish flying around and also floating in the sea.

William Pike

Last week on Friday everyone in Te Ngahere watched a webinar about  William Pike. Then  we made a google drawing about  the things about him. Also when I was doing my google drawing about William Pike I was finding photos that related to his information.

Things I learnt.

This term I learnt lots. I have evidenced some of my work that I am proud to share such as maths, writing, inquiry and some art. It took me a long time to evidence those thing. I have made I google drawing of things that I learnt.

On Pet Day.

Hi  my name is Vanya and I go to Paihia School, on Friday there was a pet day and my friend brought a pet and her name is Tessa she brought a cat for pet day.
