On Monday a cool lady came into Te Ngahere her name was Libby. She taught me all about Ocean Conservation. I learnt lots from her. Half an hour later the whole class went outside to pick up rubbish because in other countries there is lots of rubbish flying around and also floating in the sea.

Should Plastic Bags Be Used At Supermarkets?

I think that New Zealand should get rid of plastic bags because sea animals always get hurt from the rubbish that is around them. Whenever turtles see plastic bags they think it is Jellyfish.

When ever people go shopping  at the supermarkets, some people take lots of plastic bag which people can not see the plastic bags because the other plastic bags are hiding behind the other plastic bags.

Plastic bags are used for containing and transporting goods such as foods, produce, powders, ice, magazines, chemicals, and waste.

Plastic bags tend to disrupt the environment in a serious way. They get into soil and slowly release toxic chemicals. They eventually break down into the soil, with the unfortunate consequence being that animals eat them and often choke and die.

Fidget Spinner Writing

13.06.17
Should Fidget Spinners Be Allowed at Paihia School And Classroom?

No, I think that Fidget spinners should not be used at Paihia School or in the classroom because it will be distracting for our own learning.

Firstly, I would not bring a fidget spinner to school because it will distract my own learning and then once the teachers check our work they might say, “What have you been doing all this time?”

Secondly, all fidget spinners do is just spin between your fingers, I mean what is so great about that? Fidget spinners also do tricks (not great ones though!) Which causes you to get sick of them just like that.

Thirdly, fidget spinners distract your learning, they distract you, they are waste of money but most of all they just spin so they shouldn’t be allowed at school or in the classroom

That’s why I hate fidget spinners, never use them in class they are distracting and at school they are a waste of money. I hope you now know why I think fidget spinners should not be allowed in class or at school.

Are Innovative Learning Environments Better for Teaching and Learning

Hi my name Vanya, and I think that our new Innovative Learning Environment is better for teaching and learning.

Firstly, on my learning plan I do want I’m doing in the morning like my writing, reading or maths I like doing reading it is very fun that's why.
At reading we read the story on our chromebooks or else we will read on Read Theory.

Secondly, in the middle block we do workshops like writing workshops and maths workshops. I like going to Mrs Pou’s maths workshops because I like it, and it is perfect for my level.
Thirdly, in the last block, on Monday we have PE, on Tuesday we go to kapahaka, on Wednesday year sixes goes to library and year seven and eights go to Tech. Thursday it’s just a normal day, and last of all we go to assembly on Friday. I love the day because it will be the weekend.

I love what I do at school but sometimes I get angry at the teachers because I have a bad day, but the next day I came back to school and learn other things each day. I love school, when I’m sick I still want to go to school. The teachers work very hard to teach the kids, that’s how we learn from the teachers and our families.

Making Ice cream recount.

Making Ice Cream
WALT Use Metaphors and alliteration

Last week on Friday morning our teachers let Te Ngahere make ice cream because we finished our learning plans within the 10 minute mark!

Firstly we got called up to make our ice cream. The ingredients we used was a small lunch bag, a large lunch bag, six gross tablespoons of salt, two tablespoon of sugary  sugar, Icy ice, vanillary vanilla essence and sweet creamy cream.

Mrs Pou had called my partner (her name is Cilla 0and I, we were very excited we washed our hands and listened to Mrs Pou she said to “Grab a small and a large ziplock bag and put your names on them.” My partner and I our names on them and took the bags to Mrs Pou to put Ice in it. After that we put six tablespoons of salt in the bags with icy ice in it, I said to Mrs Pou that, “Will salt be in our Ice Cream and she said, “No it’s just to make it be quick.”

Next we grabbed the little lunch bags, put cream in it and then put vanilla essence in with the cream then Mrs Pou said, “Put the small bag into the big bag and smack it.” So Cilla and I went outside to shake it. I shook it and Cilla took some pretty photos of people because she could not shake it she had a broken arm.

We waited four five minutes to see if it was ready but it was not, I looked at my hands they were really red I could not feel them, but I just kept shaking it. I said to Cilla, “Is it ready?” and she said, “Yes.” So I gave the icy ice creamy cream to Brodi so she could put it into the freezing cold freezer.

Once the icy Ice creamy cream was ready we got to have some it was very yummy I got the first taste it was gross because there was salt on the bag and then Cilla had some she like it. We really liked the Ice cream. We really want to make it again.
